The main changes to the Mercedes-Benz DR520 are reserved for the engine, it has been claimed. Based on an Auto Express article the DR520 boasts 513 hp which is 62 hp more than the standard models. Because of the addition of the AMG Performance Pack Plus which brings forged pistons new con rods and a revised crankshaft the DR520 is much more powerful claimed the website.
